Me and My Camera

I'm truly blessed to have a husband who supports and encourages my interests.  I've always had a strong interest in photography but never had the camera, time or drive to pursue it as a dedicated hobby.  After the birth of my second daughter, my 'push' gift from my husband was my first Digital SLR Camera.
I still have the same Canon EOS Rebel and LOVE it.

For the past 2 years, I've been photographing with one lens- an EFS 18-55mm lens.  For Mother's Day however, my husband bought me a new lens (EF 75-300mm).  It's probably pretty obvious that I'm not really a diamonds and jewelry type of gal (other than what I make myself).  I've always told my husband that buying me jewelry would be a waste of money since I won't really wear it.  I'm nervous by nature and don't need added stress about losing or breaking anything that is worth a lot of money.

I haven't had a lot of time to experiment with the new lens but decided to try it out during our latest rain storm.  Can I tell you how in love I am? It was perfect.  I was able to stand on our deck and get some great up close shots of my 4 year old.  Experimenting with photography is FUN but I really need to focus and read up on techniques and photography basics.

    1. What appears to be a cheap hobby is quite expensive but I can't complain. I now get to cherish the memories of my family forever.

    1. Thank you so much Brandi for stopping by. It's a wonderful yet expensive hobby. At least there's a reward after every click.
