Tiny Dancer

I'm not sure when life will ever slow down.  I keep hoping for those quiet moments again when I can sit and do nothing at all.  My husband will tell you that even if I ever received these times, I'd be so guilt ridden to use them up.  I like to occupy my time...in my eyes, there is always something that can be done.  This weekend was busy with my oldest daughters first ever ballet recital.  Although she's almost 4, I felt the butterflies in my stomach start at the dress rehearsal.  As I looked at her on stage, I began to get very weepy.  My once baby is now growing up.  She can go without my confidently to a stage and perform without me by her side.  Initially, I wasn't going to get her photos taken but after getting her into her costume for dress rehearsal, I wanted someone professional to capture my angelic beauty.

The day of the recital, she was so excited.  I was nervous. Not at how she would perform but at how I'd react seeing her on stage in a packed auditorium.  She did beautifully and seemed (to me) to be a pro.  As I gathered her after the show she was beaming at her success.  I hope to be able to look into her eyes for years to see them beam at all the successes life will have to offer her.

  1. Thank you for joining in Photo Feedback. I really like the candid moment you captured. Honestly the composition is wonderful. If you cropped the photo it would totally take away from the story of it. I think the black and white conversion is perfect. It reduces the distractions and makes you focus on her. Very, very well done. My only suggestion is to maybe share larger photos on your blog. It is hard to see the details at such a small size.

    1. Thank you both for your kind comments. It was one of those moments where I wasn't anticipating a photo shoot and bam! it happened. All I had was my phone but am so happy I had at least that. Lesson learned...always bring my Cannon :)

I love your blog and am now following.

  4. These are some of my favorite photos of yours to date! I just love them. She is absolutely adorable. This is making me excited at the thought of one day my daughter (coming in September) will want to dance and I will get to watch her at recitals. Such precious memories, I'm sure!

  5. I decided to feature your photo at tomorrow's Oh Snap! party. :) It's the same badge you were awarded several weeks ago, but I couldn't resist! I love it too much. :)
