Times flying

I can hardly believe tomorrow is my 3.5 year old last day of school.  In just a couple of months she'll be in her last year of preschool then kindergarten.  I was always told as an early mother to savor the moments because before I know it, the girls will be in college.  There are days when life feels like it's is moving at the pace of a snail but when I sit back and look at how quickly a year has gone by, I'm start to think.  Am I savoring every moment I have with my girls? It's easy for me to put other household tasks before taking time out to read them a book or push them on the swing.  I do not want to be remembered as the mother who always got a lot done during the day but the mother who gave the best hugs and was coming up with fun creative things to do.

It's late, the girls are down, my husbands out and I'm typing which makes for a deadly combination :)  It's always easiest for me to reflect when the house is still and I can think.  It's this blog that will help me take accountability.  I will try to savor every moment.  There will be days I fail but as long as my girls know they are loved, I'm succeeding.

Although this post is not about directly creating something I 'pinned', I designed the format and typeface of a great quote from Donna Bell on Motherhood I found on Pinterest.

  1. Awesome post! I could have written the same thoughts. I admire you as a woman, a wife and a mother. Your girls know you love them. You can see it in their faces! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and feelings on the subject. As always, you inspire me!
